Family helps clean beaches

Editor;

This past Sunday, June 17th, the Pollution Solution Group was removing broken parts and pieces of plastic and flotation foam from the swim buoys that are supposed to protect the swimmers but are now more dangerous then protective to swimmers, sea life, ocean craft, and ocean.

While we were working, a lovely family also began to help us; it was the Mr and Mrs How family from Sriracha, and their two sons, 20 year old Sukrit and his younger brother, visiting Jomtien Beach.

They shared their concerns on what a mess the beach and ocean was.

Surkit goes to the Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University in Sriracha. Realizing his studies and our mission were so closely related, we asked Sukrit if he would like to take the PBS Thai documentary video about beach & ocean pollution and our posters (to school).

We asked Surkit to ask teachers to please share the informative PBS Thai and English documentary and to please, make enough copies of the posters to give to each student to take home and share with their families.

We put the ball in this smart young mans court, now only time will tell.

Thank you,

Gerry Rasmus

Pollution Solution Group meets 2nd year students from Thai-Austrian Technical College, Sattahip

Aloha

The Pollution Solution Group had the honor of meeting, 8, 2nd year students, form Thai-Austrian Technical College, on Sukhumvit Rd, Na Chom Thian, Sattahip, Chon Buri.  They were taking a brake from studies, at Jomtien Beach.

We had just finished, removing broken swim buoy parts, spewed, all over the beach, ocean, feeling anger towards the people, in control of the beaches and ocean.  We came across 8 young, well dressed students, sitting quietly, enjoying the fresh air, we regrouped, smiled, started slowly talking in our very bad Thai, some, understood our English.

We asked, if they were interested in a Thai documentary about the beaches, oceans and stray dogs, they all agreed, with a big smile.  With complete pleasure, we gave them what we call, a school package, A PBS Thai DVD, Color posters starting with, young children, babies, under 2 years old, playing on the beach in and around, many foolish-lie discarded toxic cigarette-butts, bottle-caps, that they could, some do, ingest, choke, become very ill, (maybe die).

A Turtle with a plastic bag in his mouth, (dead) they mistake plastic, for Jellyfish, which they eat, (choke to a horrible death)

A Dead Seabird, in her stomach, disposable lighters, bottle-caps, cigarette butts, none of which digest, fill her up, dies a very painful death, her Chicks also die.

Storm Drain information, letting people know, that our "Life's Blood Is Water" and that is all, that should go into a "Storm Drain, Rain Water"

One of our main posters which we pass out daily, to many people, that are either interested, or need to read and understand, in Thai and English, It says

"NO BUTTS-NO GARBAGE" "GOES TO OCEAN"
"KEEP IT CLEAN FOR THE KING" "AND SAFE FOR THE CHILDREN"
With our Blog http://solution2pollution.blogspot.com/

How wonderful is it that nobody need wait a single moment, before starting to improve the world, we are never to young or old to make a difference, no matter how Big or small, we earn inner-wealth, by giving back.  We are all in this neighborhood together.  Yesterday is History, Tomorrow a Mystery, Now is the Only Time there Is.  (Please Make A Difference, Starting Today)

There are many Thais and Farangs that do care and are making a difference, We thank you and hope more, start to surface.

Kapun Kup, Mahalo Nui Loa, Thank You Very Much.

Sollution To Pollution...Jomtien Beach destruction...Gerry Rasmus aka KOTO

Aloha

Sad to say, this is just a few, of the pictures, of Jomtien Beach, ocean and beach destruction, that is happening now, has been for weeks, due to lack of planing, or I don't care attitude, from what we can see.
Please prove us wrong, we just don't understand, what is more important then saving, our waterways, be it ocean or fresh water (OUR LIFE'S BLOOD)

"WAKE UP THAILAND" BECOME PART OF THE SOLUTION, NOT THE POLLUTION"

The Pollution Solution Group has cried a thousand tears, watching the protective swim buoys at Jomtien Beach self destruct, last year and a bigger mess, this year, leaving a disaster behind, of plastic and floatation foam, covering our beaches, contaminating our ocean, killing all types of sea life, becoming an eye-soar to beach-goers.  Way to few of the beach chair venders, remove any of it, thinking they didn't do it, why clean it. (some do) (some care)

One would think that they would realize, that protecting the beach and ocean is also insurance, to have a business.  We do what we can with a limited amount of help, we remove, in front of some of their businesses, the large pieces of broken away plastic and foam, also the full size buoys, no longer attached, waiting for the tide to take them back into the ocean, becoming a danger to swimmers and ocean craft, as they are full of razor sharp barnacles and can and have caused accidents.

We contacted Pattaya City Hall weeks ago, with pictures, asking them to remove the buoys and send the cleanup crew to remove these contaminating dangers, we only see the cleanup group, raking up leaves in a shaded area at Dong Tan Beach.  It seems like the Could of, should of, would of, got lost somewhere and put on the back burner, until all of the damage has been done.

Beach chair vendors, clean up crews, Pattaya City Hall, Is anybody out there! Can anybody hear us! Does anybody care!

Aloha

We here at The Pollution Solution Group, would like to take time, to thank all, of the wonderful people involved, past and present, Thai, Farang, Pattaya City Hall, for their heartfelt donations of baht ($) dog, cat food, Also discounts  for dog, cat food, at Thepprasit Market, Ongoing medical attention, Chaiyapruek Pet Hospital, helping us take care  of these lost, scared hungry, thirsty, homeless dogs and cats, to hopefully be spayed, neutered, adopted or left to live a free happy life.

It is a wonderful feeling for us and the animals, to realize we, they, are not alone or forgotten.  We also, reach out to homeless people, Thai and Farang from time to time with water, first aid and food.  Being down and out is not the best place to be, with a little help from our friends, we can lift a little of the burden to make that day, a tad better then most days.

We could never begin to do, what we try our best to do, without your ongoing support.

May Buddha, God and Whomever Else is Out There,
Bless you All.
Remember Inner-wealth is earned by giving, not receiving,
for you that have gave from your heart, regardless how Big or small, you have earned priceless inner-wealth.

Kapun Kup, Mahalo Nui Loa, Thank You Very Much.

More broken swim buoys at Jomtien Beach

Aloha

These are just a few of the many pictures of more broken swim buoys of the following day, Monday, June 11TH, 2012.

Realizing at this point, the cow is way out of the barn, the least Pattaya City Hall can do, is take the bull by the horns, send out a cleanup crew, remove what is on the beach before high tides keep taking it back out to the ocean, contaminating it more, then is is already. There is something very wrong with this movie.

Again The Pollution Solution Group asks all concerned citizens to please call the Pattaya City Call Center 1337, Asking them to please remove all the swim buoy's broken or not, plastic and flotation foam, from the Jomtien beaches, which are contaminating our ocean, killing sea-life also remove the few buoys that are breaking up as we type also being a very bad sight for all beach-goers.

We really would love nothing more, then to report good news about our ocean, beaches, homeless dogs.  It is very heart wrenching to send these types of messages to the local papers, Pattaya City Hall.  Every new day, we pray for a cleaner ocean, beach, dogs, spayed neutered, adopted. It's a shame that our voice and actions go so unnoticed to the eyes and ears of the powers in control, be it Pattaya City Hall, Governor of Chonburi, Monks, Churches, Expat Clubs, the list goes on. It's almost like everyone is to busy to See and Hear the Cries of Mother Earth, Children, Wildlife, Waterways and Soil.

The Pollution Solution Group could be wrong, but we feel that we "All" Need a Big Wake-up Call, to start taking care of our Earth, Neighborhoods, Beaches, Parks, Ocean, lakes, Rivers, Streams, Creeks, Storm Drains.  Maybe we are just overacting (NOT) We see it daily, most people, (not all) are to busy on Computers, Video Games, iPods, Texting, Electronically Someplace Else, Not in the Now.

Thank You

Call Pattaya City Hall Center 1337...Swim Buoys at Jomtien Beach

Aloha

Beating a Dead Horse to Death...Again, Is not our Goal,   Correcting the Problem, From the Get Go Is.  (Sad to say, seems mostly, but not totally, impossible, in Thailand)  Reporting this again, from the same time of last years, environmental mess, that we had, in our ocean and on our Jomtien beaches, from the protective swim buoys, this should not have happened again, and more devastating, then last year.

Pattaya City Hall should have known this, with last years problems also getting our many reports, with pictures.  We were told, that there was a 2 year warranty, on these 2+ year old swim buoys.

Don't get us wrong, Pattaya City Hall helps The Pollution Solution Group with many things.  We might be shooting ourselves in the flip-flops, for getting on their case, but "Silence Is Not An Option"

Please, If concerned call Pattaya City Hall Center 1337.
Also please take time to come to Jomtien Beach and look at the swim buoys.

Thank You.

Aloha

PATTAYA CITY HALL, PLEASE GET THESE BROKEN DANGEROUS, CONTAMINATING BUOYS, OUT OF THE OCEAN AND OFF THE BEACH.
PLEASE SEND HELP TO CLEAN UP THIS UNSIGHTLY MESS "TODAY" THE OCEAN AND BEACHES ARE FULL OF BUSTED UP BUOYS, PLASTIC, AND FLOTATION FOAM, KILLING SEA-LIFE, CONTAMINATING THE WATER, DESTROYING OUR BEACHES, NOT TO MENTION AN EYE-SOAR.

KAPUN KUP, THANK YOU VERY MUCH,
