Andre J Barallon helps with Pollution Solution

Aloha
For the past 40 years, The Pollution Solution Group have been trying to figure out, a simple easy way, not only, to recycle plastic, also a way to have smokers, quit flicking their toxic butts that children, wildlife could and have ingested, become ill, choke and some die, also contaminating all waterways and soil.
"Note"There are many smokers that know better and don't leave Toxic Butts Behind.
By attaching a water bottle to a tree, reversing the top so the butt, funnels into the water left in the bottom.
I take my hat off to an amazing young Australian man (A Brother) Also tremendously concerned with, Mother Earth, he not only talks the talk he walks the walk.

The Pollution Solution Group Needs Help...Gerry Rasmus aka KOTO

Aloha

We are sharing this with a few, testing the waters and asking for assistance, be it dog food, donations or inputs. Some of you have and continue to donate. We and all the dogs say Kapun Krup or Ka, Mak, Mak, Mahalo Nui Loa, Thank You Very Much.

This is a week's supply of food for 40 homeless, stray dogs, except for the 5 bottles of water, that is used daily.

Around 60 + kilos, 130 + pounds, 7 bags of treats, milk depending on what's on sale, (not shown) out of pocket baht is around 3,000 = $90.00...figuring 30 baht to the dollar, per week, which is quite reasonable, compared to prices in the USA.

To get a dog spayed, including a weeks stay, also 3,000 baht = $90.00

We seem to get just enough between us and donations to do the dog food, a few vet visits on injuries and now and again a spaying.  We're grateful for this.

We are looking at all avenues to see how we can get more spayed or neutered, depending on who we can catch or make friends so they will come with us with coin on hand.  We are always open for suggestions and donations.

At this point we are just happy that we can give them another day to live, one day at a time, until we can do more. A wag of a tail is worth a thousand words. We count our blessings that we can do what we do. Some of our best friends are dogs and the Thai's and Farangs that understand and help. We put collars on some so they are not picked up and taken to the death sentence shelter.

Mahalo for letting us share this with you.

Gerry aka KOTO helps his friends along the way

This past week, I've just been feeding, watering the dogs and putting medicine on homeless people that have stepped on glass or been hit with a rock by another drunk.

The pictures are...The wonderful loving father of my sweetheart and a great little boy that stays with them, when his mother works... A young boy selling his wares...And then a small group of my children (well fed) by me and others. All the dogs hear, see, smell me or my truck way before I arrive and start the wagging and looking for where I can park...Last picture a sad case, but he keeps on keppin on. He leaves me, tail high in the air, heading into the bush.

Aloha

The Pollution Solution Group would like to thank, Pattaya Mayor Ittiphol Kunplome, Deputy Chief Administrator Khun Apichart and Pattaya City Hall, for their "immediate" attention, once we notified them, about the dangerous problem, of exposed electrical wires, on most, if not all, the light poles on Jomtien Beach.

The inspection plates that cover the power, electrical wires, for all the Jomtien Beach, have been removed by someone, to sell, for food, drugs, whatever, It came to our attention when we saw a dog get electrocuted, (died) when it was playing and grabbed the exposed wires. (ugly sad site) All of these exposed hot wires, are low enough for young children, to put their hands, unknowingly on them.

We were going to put duck tape, around them until Pattya City Hall, was able to manufacture, new protective covers, without haste and the quickest response we have ever seen, Pattaya City Hall jumped into action, just a few days after we brought the pictures to City Hall and they were out there, repairing the problem, with proper, protective covers.

We want to retract all the yak, yak we have been giving them, when push comes to shove and our children's lives are at steak, Pattaya Mayor Ittiphol Kunplome, Khun Apichart and Pattaya City Hall, jump into action.

We take our hats off, to all of you and give you all, an A++.

Kapun Krup, Mak, Mak. Mahalo Nui Loa.
Thank You Very Much

Khun Peak, Manager of the, Surf Kitchen Restaurant, at Soi 5, Jomtien Beach Rd.
A great place to dine, clean, great food.

Aloha

Khun Peak points at their new ashtray, donated by The Pollution Solution Group.
The Surf Kitchen Restaurant has always been interested in the environment and was very happy to receive our first ashtray, hoping that smokers will not flick their cigarettes into the street, where they will end up, in the storm drains and become, toxic food, for our sea life and waterways.

Pattaya Mail

Editor;

The Pollution Solution Group is very happy to report that our wonderful mayor, Itthiphol Kunplome, signed our request and passed it on to Arunvasamee (Amee) from Pattaya City Hall’s Division of Social Welfare, to assist us in getting help for a lovely 42 year old girl who has had a very bad skin problem. Her loving father has been taking care of her, but she was in need of medical attention and financial help, to make her very uncomfortable life a little less painful.

We have known her for some time now, as we feed several dogs where she lives, going there everyday, we have become very good friends, holding her hand, walking with her, giving her some candy, crying on the inside, for her pain and smiling on the outside, to make her happy and excepted, counting our blessings, more then ever before.

We are so very happy to announce that she, we call her Sweetheart, will start getting some free medical attention, inspections on her living conditions and some financial help.

With These Two Hands...Pollution Solution Group meets Russian Lady

Aloha

The Pollution Solution Group, met this very nice, Russian Lady, not speaking a word of English, letting us know she wanted to help us clean the beach, making it safer for the beach, sea life, ocean and swimmers, for 2 + hours, she assisted us, removing many kilos, of plastic, bottle caps, toxic cigarette butts, diapers, bar-b q sticks, bits and pieces of rope and fishing nets, disposable lighters, broken swim buoy foam and plastic, bamboo poles full of razor sharp barnacles. Helping us, throw starfish, that were caught at low tide, back into the ocean, to give them a chance, for another day, we have seen her cleaning the beach before.

We are always hearing how uncaring and tough acting many Russians are, this caring lady from a place, far, far away from her home, as others also have, show us, there are some very nice, environmentally concerned, pleasant Russians and all walks of life.

We have met many, before her, and I'm sure we will met many more after. Like we always say, It doesn't matter where one came from, It doesn't matter where one is at, what matters is where one is coming from on the inside. Having respect for self, others, being fully responsible for ones actions is what makes a good human being.

The Pollution Solution Group thanks this caring Russian lady and all the Farangs and Thais that have concerns about the environment and have reached out to help make our Mother Earth a cleaner, safer place, for all.

Kapun Krup, Mahalo Nui Loa, Thank You Very Much.

Family helps clean beaches

Editor;

This past Sunday, June 17th, the Pollution Solution Group was removing broken parts and pieces of plastic and flotation foam from the swim buoys that are supposed to protect the swimmers but are now more dangerous then protective to swimmers, sea life, ocean craft, and ocean.

While we were working, a lovely family also began to help us; it was the Mr and Mrs How family from Sriracha, and their two sons, 20 year old Sukrit and his younger brother, visiting Jomtien Beach.

They shared their concerns on what a mess the beach and ocean was.

Surkit goes to the Faculty of Fisheries, Kasetsart University in Sriracha. Realizing his studies and our mission were so closely related, we asked Sukrit if he would like to take the PBS Thai documentary video about beach & ocean pollution and our posters (to school).

We asked Surkit to ask teachers to please share the informative PBS Thai and English documentary and to please, make enough copies of the posters to give to each student to take home and share with their families.

We put the ball in this smart young mans court, now only time will tell.

Thank you,

Gerry Rasmus

Pollution Solution Group meets 2nd year students from Thai-Austrian Technical College, Sattahip

Aloha

The Pollution Solution Group had the honor of meeting, 8, 2nd year students, form Thai-Austrian Technical College, on Sukhumvit Rd, Na Chom Thian, Sattahip, Chon Buri.  They were taking a brake from studies, at Jomtien Beach.

We had just finished, removing broken swim buoy parts, spewed, all over the beach, ocean, feeling anger towards the people, in control of the beaches and ocean.  We came across 8 young, well dressed students, sitting quietly, enjoying the fresh air, we regrouped, smiled, started slowly talking in our very bad Thai, some, understood our English.

We asked, if they were interested in a Thai documentary about the beaches, oceans and stray dogs, they all agreed, with a big smile.  With complete pleasure, we gave them what we call, a school package, A PBS Thai DVD, Color posters starting with, young children, babies, under 2 years old, playing on the beach in and around, many foolish-lie discarded toxic cigarette-butts, bottle-caps, that they could, some do, ingest, choke, become very ill, (maybe die).

A Turtle with a plastic bag in his mouth, (dead) they mistake plastic, for Jellyfish, which they eat, (choke to a horrible death)

A Dead Seabird, in her stomach, disposable lighters, bottle-caps, cigarette butts, none of which digest, fill her up, dies a very painful death, her Chicks also die.

Storm Drain information, letting people know, that our "Life's Blood Is Water" and that is all, that should go into a "Storm Drain, Rain Water"

One of our main posters which we pass out daily, to many people, that are either interested, or need to read and understand, in Thai and English, It says

"NO BUTTS-NO GARBAGE" "GOES TO OCEAN"
"KEEP IT CLEAN FOR THE KING" "AND SAFE FOR THE CHILDREN"
With our Blog http://solution2pollution.blogspot.com/

How wonderful is it that nobody need wait a single moment, before starting to improve the world, we are never to young or old to make a difference, no matter how Big or small, we earn inner-wealth, by giving back.  We are all in this neighborhood together.  Yesterday is History, Tomorrow a Mystery, Now is the Only Time there Is.  (Please Make A Difference, Starting Today)

There are many Thais and Farangs that do care and are making a difference, We thank you and hope more, start to surface.

Kapun Kup, Mahalo Nui Loa, Thank You Very Much.

Sollution To Pollution...Jomtien Beach destruction...Gerry Rasmus aka KOTO

Aloha

Sad to say, this is just a few, of the pictures, of Jomtien Beach, ocean and beach destruction, that is happening now, has been for weeks, due to lack of planing, or I don't care attitude, from what we can see.
Please prove us wrong, we just don't understand, what is more important then saving, our waterways, be it ocean or fresh water (OUR LIFE'S BLOOD)

"WAKE UP THAILAND" BECOME PART OF THE SOLUTION, NOT THE POLLUTION"

The Pollution Solution Group has cried a thousand tears, watching the protective swim buoys at Jomtien Beach self destruct, last year and a bigger mess, this year, leaving a disaster behind, of plastic and floatation foam, covering our beaches, contaminating our ocean, killing all types of sea life, becoming an eye-soar to beach-goers.  Way to few of the beach chair venders, remove any of it, thinking they didn't do it, why clean it. (some do) (some care)

One would think that they would realize, that protecting the beach and ocean is also insurance, to have a business.  We do what we can with a limited amount of help, we remove, in front of some of their businesses, the large pieces of broken away plastic and foam, also the full size buoys, no longer attached, waiting for the tide to take them back into the ocean, becoming a danger to swimmers and ocean craft, as they are full of razor sharp barnacles and can and have caused accidents.

We contacted Pattaya City Hall weeks ago, with pictures, asking them to remove the buoys and send the cleanup crew to remove these contaminating dangers, we only see the cleanup group, raking up leaves in a shaded area at Dong Tan Beach.  It seems like the Could of, should of, would of, got lost somewhere and put on the back burner, until all of the damage has been done.

Beach chair vendors, clean up crews, Pattaya City Hall, Is anybody out there! Can anybody hear us! Does anybody care!
